OUR PROGRAMMES
Over 3,000 young people take part in bespoke Challenger Trust programmes every year. We aim to combine the needs of the school (educational outcomes) with the specific requirements of the sponsor and deliver an adventure programme children love!

THE LEARNING TO LEAD AWARD
The Learning to Lead Award is our core, certificated, award based programme aimed at young people aged 12 – 14. The three progressive courses mean the learning outcomes are far greater which is why it is recommended by the Association of School & College Leaders (ASCL).

Bronze
A one day ‘mission’ based challenge comprising a series of exciting outdoor tasks aimed at developing confidence and team skills.

Silver
An overnight camping-based programme focusing on communication, problem solving, decision making and team work. During challenging activities such as orienteering, raft building and trekking, young people will learn to cope with new surroundings, to manage risk and be more self-reliant.

Gold
A 5-day trekking or kayaking expedition aimed at re-enforcing the skills that have been previously learnt, as well as focusing on enterprise, leadership and self-belief. Young people will take full responsibility for the planning of their expedition and will organize fundraising activities to meet some of the cost. Gold level students can gain ASDAN Level 2 Certificate in Personal Effectiveness, a nationally recognised qualification equivalent to a GCSE grade B / 46 UCAS points.
